Do I Wanna Know? – Arctic Monkeys

Posted in Black bird Singing on January 15th, 2014 by Emma B.

A lot of my friends have been telling me how great this band was and yet it is only that I actually got to listen to one of their songs. Frankly, at first, I didn’t pay attention because I got the impression that their music is similar to Red Hot Chili Peppers but I’ve come to apprecate them now.

About the Song:

This song is from Artic Monkeys’ latest album, AM, which went out late last year.

I like the song because I can relate to it as a person who harbors a seemingly hopeless one-sided love.

“Do I wanna know if this feeling flows both ways?”

This part calls to me because as a hopeless romantic and a one-sided lover, we long and hope that whatever we feel for the person can be reciprocated. Or, in the case of those who just broke up and are still holding on, they long to know if the love still lives in the heart of the other person. But do we really wanna know? I don’t because I have a deep for rejection. We may know that a love is one-sided or hopeless but to actually confirm that it is really and utterly one-sided or hopeless brings on a different and more severe pain. Well, the truth hurts.

Pregnancy After 40 Might Be Harmful for the Baby

Posted in Black bird Singing on January 14th, 2014 by Dave

We have heard lots of sad stories where mothers die in delivering a baby or even during its conception, especially for cases of pregnancy after 40.

However, it is important to realize that this pregnancy might also affect the baby. There are lots of instances in which the baby forms diseases or sickness that have never been present in anyone from the family. It is also possible that the baby might have deformities as the mother could not provide the nutrition that the baby needs. If the mother is suffering from severe health problems, it is possible for the baby to be affected too.

As a result, it is very delicate to have pregnancy after 40. Therefore, for those who plan to have one, it is important to know more about the consequences as well as to be fully prepared of all the possibilities of getting pregnant at this stage.

My Love Took Me Down To The River To Silence Me – Little Green Cars

Posted in Black bird Singing on January 9th, 2014 by Emma B.

The Song and lyrics:

After playing Bastille’s Pompeii, I always need to play this song next. Heartbreaking actually, but I love the feelings and concepts it invokes within me: the aching sadness of being left alone, the sense of loyalty of an unmoving heart even when the other has already left, the utter betrayal when you’ve given someone your all and the unconditional love for someone undeserving.

“There is a heart in me; where is the heart in you?
This love’s killing me but I want it to.”

This seems to be my favorite part in the whole song. Don’t you feel the gravity? And with the vocals, the meaning of the song has been delivered potently. The anguish is there. The emotions are present and I absolutely love every aspect of the song.

Starting New– New Work and New House

Posted in Black bird Singing on January 7th, 2014 by Emma B.

November has been a real rollercoaster ride for me because a lot of things happened that seemed to kick-start my life anew. First off, I got a job and second of all, I moved houses. Big decisions were made that might have hurt some people but I stand by my actions– I know I did the right thing.

After three long months of being a freelance writer, I landed on a job in a multi-national company as a Content Editor for US legal documents and started officially working last November 4. After just two weeks in the company, I decided to move houses. The move was instigated by several reasons– I’m no longer happy in my old house, there is a collosal drift between my “bestfriend” a.k.a. roommate and me, and God knows I can’t afford that house (I was only there in the first place because my bestfriend asked me to).

I know I left a lot of people behind this November but I needed to. I need this– to start anew, to leave all the emotional garbage behind, to stand on my own and actually grow to be who I want to be: an independent, unrestrained, successful woman.

A New Day Will Come

Posted in Black bird Singing on January 7th, 2014 by Dave

As they always say, when the evening gets too dark, you will just soon see the light. It might be very easy to say but understanding it and seeing its reality might be very difficult for you.

This is true especially if the darkness that you experience is beyond compare. You will feel like it is already the end of the road for you. Waiting for the sun to come might be a good option. However, the time it takes for it to come might already kill you. Thus, in order to make yourself be more pacified, always remember that the day and night is a cycle. The nights might be extended and so are the days. Yet, it will always come and go. Whatever you have now, you will soon get through it.

Just hang in there and soon you will survive it with grace and elegance. Stay strong, wink!

Frontliner 101: Its Importance to Business

Posted in Black bird Singing on December 3rd, 2013 by Emma B.

Actual or personal customer service is indispensable in any company or organization. We cannot evade the fact that companies live smoothly, or survive financially, basically from the profits they earn from their end-users, whether it is a service or a tangible product, whom we call customers. So customer relationship management is a vital aspect of corporate growth.

A substantial amount of investment is given nowadays by most companies to nourish the aspect of interacting with customers or attending to their concerns. They conduct trainings and all that to assure the quality of their customer service. They select and develop employees who will deliver excellent customer care.

People who are assigned in customer care have a few reminders in handling concerns of the customers. Some of these are the smile, the tone of voice, proper knowledge, and quick response. A customer service representative or those frontliners we sometimes call have these to bear in mind in order to provide customers the care and assistance they always seek.

A Confounding Mysterious Ending

Posted in Black bird Singing on November 4th, 2013 by Emma B.

The movie, The Fountain, starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz is one typically low-budgeted film. The whole plot orbits in almost two or three main settings, and there are hardly few characters engaged in major roles.

“The Fountain” was an unfinished manuscript of Izzi, the leading character’s (Tommy) wife who suffered an illness and later on died. Tommy’s life after his wife’s unforeseen and untimely death was hardly tolerable and from there mysteries happened.

Candidly speaking, not all viewers would fully decipher what the riddles or enigma in the film were presented because the portrayal was quite unsystematic and confounding. It was a different fantasy/heartwarming story that could have had the opportunity to astonish viewers had it well shown what transpired in the real world. Most of the latter scenes showed the hermit-like life of Tommy which some may have not recognized as happning in the real world or imagination or whatnot.

It really gave us a confounding ending – something that would make viewers wonder what was the upshot of an unfinished book or an unprepared facing to death.

The Importance of Concrete Waterproofing

Posted in Black bird Singing on October 24th, 2013 by Dave

Concrete is an integral element in building a property. Its durability make a structure stand for a long time. Aside from serving as a foundation, concrete also works as wall finishing or adhesive for other walling solutions.

This material is probably famous for its durability, but its quality can drastically decrease due to water penetration. Structurally speaking, concrete stands out as the best material but it is not waterproof, which means it may be damaged once extreme weather condition occurs.

Concrete looks smooth at the surface. The truth, however, is its surface is porous, which makes it possible for water to penetrate. Excessive water penetration plus heat will result to crumbling in the long run. Hence, it emphasizes the importance of concrete waterproofing.

Fortunately, this process can be simple as long as you know the basic procedures. Various waterproofing solutions are available in the market, which you may want to check on.

Why People Are Craving For New Gadgets

Posted in Black bird Singing on October 17th, 2013 by Dave

One of the cravings of many people today is having a new gadget. People want to buy a new cellphone (smartphone, in particular), tablet, PSPs, laptops, cameras, and a lot more.

Perhaps, you may ask: What do these gadgets have that many people really wish to buy them?

One of the main reasons is that, they serve to be a status symbol. Some people believe that, when they have the latest and perhaps the most expensive gadget, many people think of them as “rich.”

Another obvious reason is for them to be “in” with the trend. The very reason why you can see a lot of people who change mobile phones so often is because, they believe that they belong to the generation if they have these new gadgets in town.
